This weekend our main line got clogged. Suddenly my wife and I were living in a third world village, like in Somalia. The girls had to go to the store to do their business. Well I found out about plumbers in Los Angeles. I guess most of us look in the yellow pages to find a plumber. What I discovered that plumbers no longer attend junior college to learn the craft of plumbing. They instead take marketing and theater in school. What I'm talking about are the ones that take out full page ads' in the yellow pages. Promising instant gratification, special discounts, and clean smelling men. What I got were lectures about how my 50 year house was not to current building code. And to do the job properly they're going to have to make some modifications first. Such as proving an extra large clean out for $3000, and then maybe he could resolve my problem. I called several other headliner plumbers. They came and all gave a well rehearsed routine how I need this and that, in addition to what I actually wanted. I looked for plumbers on Yelp. I found Stephens Plumbing & Heating. They had everything working great in 45 minutes, at a fraction of what the headliners wanted. I also had them fix my house to code for a tenth of what the others wanted.

You know how tough it is to find an honest plumber/heater guy (..like a good doctor, mechanic, etc). Well, Stephens surprised me I had my furnace go out during this past cold spell, and I had to choose from an authorized list from the manufacturer to get it covered under warranty. First of all, they were friendly on the phone and gave me a heads up call when they were 30m out. Good. They were running late, and gave me a followup call with the new time - not too bad. Sean was our tech. He was upfront on the estimate, very knowledgeable, and actually took the time to explain the problem. Said to call back with any question or problems. They even mailed me a thank you card. Stands out from the rest. Very friendly and I would use them again.
