How to Change Your Showerhead
Is your water pressure not the greatest? Are you looking for a showerhead that complements the design of your bathroom space? Do you want to save money on your monthly water bill? If you said yes to any of the previous questions, it’s time to purchase a new showerhead! There are many different types of showerheads to choose from including fixed showerheads, rain showerheads, handheld showerheads, dual showerheads, and more. Once you’ve decided on what will work best for your home and lifestyle, you can begin the process of removing the old. In this blog, we will discuss the reasons why you may want or need to replace your current showerhead as well as the removal and replacement process.
Reasons to Replace Your Showerhead
Homeowners may choose to replace their showerheads for a number of reasons. One of the common reasons is because of low water pressure. Showerheads can become clogged from mineral deposits, resulting in poor pressure. Mold and other bacteria can grow in the showerhead as well. Other situations that call for a new showerhead are bathroom renovations, the desire for new features, to save money, or a leak.
Removal Process
To remove your old showerhead, you start by turning it counterclockwise. If you find that it is not easily coming off, we recommend getting out some pliers to assist with the removal. Place a towel around the shower arm and use the pliers for gripping purposes. From here, you can unscrew the showerhead and remove it. If pliers do not work, you can opt for an adjustable wrench.
Installation Process
Now that you have removed your old showerhead, you can install the new one. Take your new showerhead and screw it onto the shower arm by turning it clockwise. To ensure that it is functioning correctly, we strongly advise you to look for any signs of potential leaks by turning on the water. It is also important to make sure the showerhead is tightened.
